During U.S. President Gerald Ford’s visit to Salzburg, Alfons Schneider gifts him a loden coat to protect from the region’s characteristic Salzburg Schnurlregen – a fine, persistent rain.

Schneiders becomes the official sponsor of the Austrian Olympic team for the Innsbruck games – a partnership that continues in Lillehammer, Atlanta, Nagano, and Sydney.

Schneiders becomes an internationally recognized brand following its participation in the New York Pret fashion shows.
